Review: King's Cage by Victoria Aveyard

Title: King's Cage (Red Queen #3)
Author: Victoria Aveyard
Published: February 7th 2017
Date Read: May 14th – 19th 2017
Read In: English

When the Lightning Girl's Spark is gone,
who will light the way for the rebellion?

Mare Barrow is a prisoner, powerless without her lightning, tormented by her lethal mistakes. She lives at the mercy of a boy she once loved, a boy made of lies and betrayal. Now a king, Maven Calore continues weaving his dead mother's web in an attempt to maintain control over his country – and his prisoner.

As Mare bears the weight of Silent Stone in the palace, her once-ragtag band of newbloods and Reds continues organizing, training, and expanding. They prepare for war, no longer able to linger in the shadows. And Cal, the exiled prince with his own claim on Mare's heart, will stop at nothing to bring her back.

In this breathless third installment in Victoria Aveyard's bestselling series, allegiances are tested on every side. And when blood turns on blood, and ability on ability, there may be no one left to put out the fire – leaving Norta as Mare knows it to burn all the way down.

I liked this book a little more than the second one. I don't want to spoil in this review, so I won't say much. It was a great book, so if you liked Red Queen, you shouldn't miss this one.

Review: Morning Star by Pierce Brown

Title: Morning Star (Red Rising #3)
Author: Pierce Brown
Published: February 9th 2016
Date Read: May 6th – 13th 2017
Read In: English

If this is the End, I will rage toward it.

Darrow is the Reaper of Mars.
Born to toil, carved to fight, destined to lead. But he is a broken man.
Exposed as a Red in a world ruled by Golds, he has been captured and tormented until he is something less than human.
And yet, he is humanity's last chance.

In facing a godlike, ruthless enemy, he must call on every last ounce of strength to prove that loyalty, friendship and love are more powerful than any coldhearted machine of war.

He has been first Red, then Gold. Now, he must transcend them all. He must become the hero his people believe he is.

I really enjoyed this book. I liked it a lot more than the second one. The second one gave me some hard time and that's why I waited so long to read the third book, but in the end I really liked this book.
